How should I talk with Muslims about the inspiration of Scripture?

This text is from a letter written by David Gooding in 2001.

You enquire about the subject of the inspiration of Scripture to help you in your discussions with Muslims.

Muslims teach that the Lord Jesus did not die on the cross, and that Christians have changed the Bible in order to make it say that he did.

The best answer here is to start with the many prophecies in the Old Testament that foretell the sacrifice and death of Christ. Christians did not write the Old Testament, and they certainly haven't changed it.

Perhaps one of the best things to do with Muslims is to read, or tell them, the parables and teachings of the Lord: many Muslims have said they find them beautiful and attractive. They are self-evidently the word of God. Start with them, rather than arguing about the deity of Christ.

Warmest greetings,

When you see italics in the King James Version, does that mean it is not included in the original manuscript?
